Association Sponsored Memorials

The images below are of memorials placed at various locations by the 16th Infantry Regiment Association that commemorate the service and sacrifice of the 16th Infantry Regiment and its Soldiers. The memorials were paid for by the generous contributions of generations of former Rangers of the 16th Infantry.

  • Bronze Plaque near Port-En-Bessen. Dedicated to the Soldiers of the regiment who stormed ashore at Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944.

  • Chancellorsville Monument-Plaque. The Association dedicated the monument in October 2013 during a Civil War battlefield tour.

  • Chancellorsville Monument-Base. The green ridge in the background is where the regiment’s battle line stood.

  • Stone Plaque in St. Mary’s Church Walditch, Dorset, England 2012. Dedicated to the Soldiersof E & G Companies who resided In Walditch in the months before D-Day.

  • St. Mary’s Church, Walditch, in which the stone marker is mounted in the sanctuary.

  • Mr. Tony Greenham of the Royal British Legion displays the plaque installed in June 2002 at the WWII regimental HQ in Beaminster, England.

  • 25th Anniversary memorial for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
    Located at Richmond Hall, the 1st Battalion headquarters at Fort Riley.

  • Corporal James B. Gresham F Company, 16th Infantry.
    Located at the Gresham House, Wedeking Avenue, Evansville, IL.

  • SSG James W. Robinson, Jr. Medal of Honor,
    Located at J. Sterling Morton West High School, Berwyn, IL.
