Since 1861, over 90 members of the 16th Infantry Regiment have achieved star rank. Among those officers were one General of the Army, three Army Chiefs of Staff, and five four-star generals. In addition to these indivisiuals, the regiment has also had several other notables affiliated with it at various times. Among these were the famous movie director Sammy Fuller and Baby Peggy, the child star of the silent film era.
